Instructors: Chasing the Art of Jiu Jitsu
George Vancil
George is the senior Jiu Jitsu instructor and owner of End State Jiu Jitsu and has been teaching Jiu Jitsu in Smithfield for over 10 years. He received his black belt in 2018 from Professors Andre "Tim" Monteiro and Ricardo Tubbs George is a combat veteran and retired senior Navy Officer with 29 years in uniform. He has trained Jiu Jitsu on nearly every continent and has shared the mats with Jiu Jitsu legends and real American Warriors. He's known for his mature, intelligent, and dedicated approach to teaching the fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu.
Phillip Snodgrass
Philip started his Jiu Jitsu journey 10+ years ago under George's instruction. Since then, he's served as a Norfolk police officer, an Army vet, and now a successful entrepreneur. His relentless pursuit of professional excellence is carried onto the mat through his linear teaching approach and focus on teaching high percentage techniques that anyone can execute regardless of age or physicality. His saveragy on the mat is equalled only by his strong character, humility, and loyalty.
Hunter Vancil
Hunter has been on the mats for 15+ years. He has a super laidback style of Jiu Jitsu with an advanced and sophisticated understanding of the Gentle Art that's been developed over thousands of rounds in and out of the gi. He's all about live training and is often found at open mats where he's constantly testing himself against accomplished grapplers. He instructs in a very fun and lighthearted way with an ability to extend his teaching range from the beginner to the seasoned fighter. He insists that becoming good at Jiu Jitsu is about keeping it playful, not chasing rank, and not taking it too seriously.

THE FUNDAMENTALS
THE FUNDAMENTALS program is where your Jiu Jitsu journey starts. This is where you'll learn to become brilliant on the basics while becoming street ready. You'll also be slowly introduced to live training, called rolling, where you'll learn to apply your Jiu Jitsu on a fully resisting partner. This curriculum center program is based on Rickson Gracie's Jiu Jitsu Global Federation.
ALL RANKS
Our ALL RANKS class is fun, informal and a less structured class designed for all belts and involves exploring the fundamentals in more detail to establish a strong foundation applicable to both self defense and sport Jiu Jitsu.
LEVEL UP
Our LEVEL UP program is adesigned for color belts and involves intense training methods aimed to develop a more strategic Jiu Jitsu game. Whereas THE FUNDAMENTALS program is focused on Jiu Jitsu against an untrained fighter, the LEVEL UP program is focused on applying Jiu Jitsu against Jiu Jitsu.
YOUNG RONINS (Kids program): COMING SOON
Our Jiu Jitsu classes for kids begin at the age of seven. Our Young Ronins program is designed to teach children self-defense by becoming BULLY PROOF, establish discipline, and instil respect in a fun and interactive environment.
EXECUTIVE PROGRAM
Our EXECUTIVE PROGRAM is designed for the busy professional who needs to balance their desire to learn Jiu Jitsu with a busy schedule. This is a Jiu Jitsu concierge program that offers one on one private instruction at a time and place convenient for the student. The EXECUTIVE PROGRAM follows a focused, one-on-one approach that allows for a quicker pathway to skill progression with consistent and dedicate effort. Call or email for details.
